A rampant, howly type of wind was blowing through the middle of the quiet evening air. Goldy rays of silver sunlight bounced shinily off the glittery ripples on top of the blue-coloured water in the lakes, ponds, canals and other wet bits of the parks, gardens, and various other green spaces all over America, in the States.

Tall, attractive handsome Jake Fritter, who was really really good looking with high cheekbones and everything like a male model, and was also a private detective, was leading the amazingly sexy nice-faced lovely-haired Amy Gladly, if that was her real name, by one of her two hands, into his high-classed expensive beachfront condo bachelor pad in the centre part of Chicago, in America, the States. Chicago, city of hope, fear, anger, joy and courage, and 2.736 million people, each of them with a story to tell; 17 stories some of them, others only 2. So if we say on average 11 stories, we’re talking roughly 30 million stories. 31 million tops. “Come on in.“ Jake said in his deep Chicago drawl, and she said ok and she did. They had had had enough of the Windy City and it’s jazz music, it’s famous museum of science and history,  and it’s high crime statistics. They (as in him and her), had just met in a bar just round the corner, and just liked each other immediately because they were both just looking for someone just like that.

About the book…

“The idea for this incredible thriller came to me in a dream in bed at night one night, while I was asleep. Then, when I woke up, it pervaded my every waking thought. I then poured blood, sweat, pain, tears, love, hate and joy into it, in that order. I hope it wakes, shakes and scintillates you, and soothes your heart, soul and central nervous system.”

Chicago Blues – What the critics said

Misunderstood
Genius…

Chicago Blues, a ‘mystery crime suspense thriller’ by Saul Tillock, is truly a
phenomenon in modern publishing. Most people sit down to write the best book ever written. Tillock has somehow managed to write the worst.

Tillock breaks every rule in the writer’s rulebook:

Keep up the tension? Tillock goes off on tangents and digressions just at the point when suspense may have inadvertently crept in.

Keep it concise? Tillock over-explains everything till you want to hurt him.

Find “le mot juste”? Tillock never bothers, he’ll give you nine or ten words
that sort of cover the one he’s trying to think of.

Tie up loose ends? Tillock has no idea what that even means.
